The number one thing you must always remember when you are trying to create a life you love is this:
‘The more you do of what you do, the more you get of what you’ve got.’.
This statement is derived from the Law of Attraction, which postulates that what we focus on, we get more of. For example, have you ever noticed that when a friend has just bought a new car, you start seeing that exact same type of new car everywhere? Or if you discover you need a new Microwave, suddenly, a catalogue pops into the mail, and ads for Microwaves are on TV all the time! This is the Law of Attraction in action and it can be harnessed and used in our favour, so long as we are aware of it.
The following eight steps, if taken seriously can help you to generate the things you most desire to have and achieve in your life, which is a sure way to put yourself on a path to creating a Life you Love. These eight steps can be taken however many times you feel you need to. Maybe once a month or only once every six months. The point is, to keep in touch with the Law of Attraction and in touch with your desires and goals for yourself and your Life.
1. What are Dominant Thoughts?
What are you current Dominant Thoughts? Sit down for a moment, somewhere quiet, and start to write down the main thoughts you are having at that moment. For Example, when I tried this recently these were my dominant thoughts:
Don’t limit yourself. If you have hundreds of thoughts, write them down (ok, maybe not hundreds, but you get the idea).
2. What are your Dominant Actions?
What are you current Dominant Actions? Just as you did with your Dominant Thoughts, sit down and make a list of the things you are doing with your time for 95% of the time. For Example, my dominant actions were:
There is no need to write down things like Sleeping, or Eating as these are things that no person can do without and are stating the obvious. What we want to do is ascertain what you spend most of your time doing and whether or not it’s
taking you to where you want to be in your life. When I made my list, I realised that I was nowhere near where I wanted to be by the way I was spending my time. It was a big eye opener. Although I thought I was spending enough time doing what I wanted to do like working on my websites, I realised after writing it down, that I was making way too many excuses as to why I couldn’t spend more time doing it.
3. What are your Current Goals?
What are your current Goals in your life? If you really hate the ‘G’ word, then answer this: What do you want to have/be/do within say, the next 3-6 months?
Here’s mine for another example:
4. Current Actions taking me toward my Goals
So, now we know what you want, but what are you currently doing about it? I would wager that your answer is pretty close to mine, which is nada, zip, zero, nothing! If you have done a couple of things to get you closer to these goals, then great! Write them down.
5. Current Thoughts regarding these Goals
This step is very important. In fact I would go so far as to say that it is one of the most important steps. Why? Here’s why, if you are wanting to be/do or have something and are maybe doing a couple of things now and then to try to get yourself where you want to be, but are constantly thinking to yourself , ‘What’s the point? ‘ It’s never going to happen anyway! Then how on earth will it ever happen? If you yourself don’t even believe it will.
Your thoughts are the key.
Here are my thoughts I was having at the time:
So there you have it. My own problem started to come out here. I knew what I wanted, but my thoughts were dragging me down. I was sabotaging myself – not a good thing. So my next step was to look my fears and thoughts straight in the eye and make a list of…
6. The Actions I need to take to achieve my goals
So, if I’m ever going to have/be or do the things I want I must take action. My current attempt at action toward these goals has been non-existent, so I obviously must improve on that. Make a list of the actions you know you must take in order to get yourself where you want to be in 3-6 months regarding the Goals you want to achieve. For me, it was this:
7. The Dominant Thoughts I need to think to Achieve my Desires
So, we’ve already established how important your thoughts are in this process. Now we know what you want, and what action you need to take in order to get you closer to having it, we must also re-program your thoughts to help it all along. Positive Affirmations are a great tool in allowing your desires to come to you. Come up with a single sentence in reference to each of your Goals. Memorise them and say them to yourself when you’re driving, walking, doing dishes, in the shower and falling asleep. For example:
8. Make a Summary
Now that you have mapped out the desires, actions and thoughts you need to achieve the Life you want for yourself, make a summary of it so you can refer to it often.Your summary could look something like this:
Goal: To quit my job and make $X per week in passive income.
Actions Required: Focus on Passive Income source more and learn about/expand on it. Rely on day job less and work harder at Home job.
Thoughts Required: ‘I love my work from home job and passive income of $X per week.’
No more excuses! You can have a Life you Love, it just takes some effort.
Nobody is going to do it or make it happen for you – you must do it and make it happen for yourself.
